I run front-of-house at a DMV restaurant. The sales side is wired tight — every cover, every check. The cost side arrives as a stack of vendor invoices nobody reads until the month is already closed. Muntin Ledger reads them the day they land, files them where you can find them, and tells you when a price moved.

Snap or upload a vendor invoice. Templates and rules pull the lines — vendor, item, quantity, price, tax. No language model ever reads your documents; a CI gate blocks anyone from adding one.

A ledger you can search.
Every invoice lands filed and searchable — by vendor, by item, by date. Export the whole record to a clean CSV, or post it to QuickBooks Online, whenever you ask.

Price hikes, against your own history.
A vendor raises a price and Ledger marks it against your own six-month history. The dishes that ingredient touches re-cost the same day — the plate-cost number stays current without a spreadsheet.
Why a platform can't copy this.
Every promise below is adverse to how the largest vendors make money. That is the whole point — a company funded by a per-order rake or by reselling your data can't write these sentences without indicting its own business.
- No per-order rake. Muntin takes nothing off your tickets. The incentive to push you to sell or order more isn't in the model, because the model isn't a cut of your sales.
- No language model in the invoice path. Your numbers never become training data. The ban isn't a privacy paragraph — it's a build gate that fails the release if anyone tries to add one.
- Your data stays yours. Export the whole ledger anytime in a format you can open without us. Delete it and it's gone.
- Pricing posted in writing. The number is on the page, with the per-invoice cost math next to it. No call, no quote, no “contact sales.”

Who's behind it.
Muntin Digital is one person: Don Goldstein, full-time Front-of-House Manager at Tacombi in Bethesda, with a decade on hospitality floors before that. Ledger exists because I run the same numbers every week that it computes. The full timeline is on the about page.
