When to use it

Pull this sheet out when —

  • The day after you finish L15 deploy — your site is on a real domain and the launch-week clock starts now.
  • Migrating from an old domain to a new one — items 5 and 6 (301 redirects, GBP URL update) are the difference between keeping your rankings and starting over.
  • Soft-launching to a small audience before a wider announcement — items 1-4 set up measurement so you can see whether the soft launch is working.
Common mistakes

What operators get wrong

  • Skipping the Search Console submission. Google will find the site eventually, but you'll be flying blind on which pages are indexed and which queries you rank for until you submit the sitemap.
  • Updating Yelp + TripAdvisor + delivery platforms LATER. Operators tell themselves they will get to it; six months later the old URL is still on three platforms and diners click into a dead page.
  • Not redirecting the old domain. If you had a previous site at a different URL, every backlink, every printed business card, every Google citation still points at the old address. 301 redirects forward the traffic AND the ranking signal.
